Former library spaces at some schools will be converted into rooms where students who misbehave will be relocated to watch lessons virtually, work alone, or in groups with differentiated lessons. Books will remain on shelves and students will still be able to borrow books on a honor code system.

Yeah, send the bad kids to the library that now runs on the honor system. How could that possibly go wrong?

Vandalism, arson? The imagination runs wild.

A lot of library programs are crap and a lot of the stuff librarians do is stupid, but this solution seems a lot like throwing the baby out with the bathwater. How are students supposed to do good research without a library? We just gonna let them loose on the internet to read whatever the current politically correct paradigm happens to be?

Interestingly enough, I was once kicked out of a sewing class and so I had to spend the rest of the year with other problem students in the library for the class period.

"closing the achievement gap" is code for lowering the high achievers. We need to get woke assholes out of schools.

    If you want to see a major circus go to downtown Houston library down I think it's on Walker.

    This homeless people huddled around computer terminals and oh my god did they look beaten down.

    All of the books that are on display when you walk in are about something negative rape crisis emotional problems fear hatred everything is a bombardment of negativities.

    Of course it makes sense we would turn these libraries into straight up detention centers

      This is unrelated to the current topic. Moreover, public libraries are wonderful.

      Quite obviously you have never been to the downtown Houston library at least not lately.

      If you want to see a herd of zombies sitting on public terminals go to the downtown Houston library it's on McKinney Walker something like that and you going to see.
