That is a sad possibility. And if they did survive, they could now be homeless. I'm praying if they survived, they would be reunited with their pets.

Were they named that before the tornado hit?? Did they find them, check their collars and find those name tags?... Cos, if so, that's mighty auspicious!

I'd be naming my next dogs: "Billions of dollars" and "Tonnes of hot women who really want me".

I would assume this woman does not know the names of the dogs or know who owns them, but since they survived a storm and tornado, she gave them related nicknames.

I prayed for them, that their owners would be reunited with their pets, and that this woman would be blessed for her care.

Definition of auspicious.

After you used the word auspicious, I looked up the definition for myself since I do not use that word, and I wanted to understand what you were thinking. Part of the definition is:

Having omens of success

I would not consider a tornado and storm to be a success or favorable, so the word choice in this context does not match fully, but I understand you meant their names (if given before the event) could have been foreshadowing of something to come, and in this case something undesirable.

Yeah, maybe not the best choice of term. Inauspicious might have been the way to go.
