Garland says it was a Trump appointed US Attorney General, but everyone paying attention knows, while technically correct, that doesn't make him non-partisan. This attorney general was David Weiss, the attorney Trump didn't know and was pushed to appoint as US Attorney General by Democrats. He had worked with the Obama Administration for a long time (and with Bush prior). This was also the ONLY US Attorney General appointed by Trump that Biden didn't immediately fire, before entering office. Of course, the case has multiple DOJ and IRS whistleblowers claiming there was manipulation of the case.
