TBH I could see unintentionally. The article talked about lack safety standards and cleaning chemicals that were dissolving the seal of the lab. The latter sounds very Chinese to me. "Why use this expensive cleaner when we can just use bleach at a fraction of the cost!" Very Chinese.

I don't see how China would benefit from doing this on purpose. They are in a worse place now then they were before the pandemic. If this was part of some master plan then it has failed.
