Its an unfortunate situation. The main platforms decided to censor all sorts of shit, but they are primarily targeting conservative/right-wing viewpoints, so the places that allow much of anything tend to be dominated by this type of dialog. Politics is just so polarized right now that most dialog online tends towards really extreme woke politics, or some kind of identity group hatred as a reaction to it. People outside of this don't have a lot of great places to go

I think I fit into the category of not-woke and try not to hate anyone.
I was drawn to reddit years ago because technically (on the merits of the technology alone) it's a terrific way to do dialogue.
The threaded nature of the replies are far far better than the alternatives, be they facebook or web boards.
