I think you'll find that paedophiles who target teens are far more likely to be psychos than those who target prepubescent children.

They ones who target young children tend to have low impulse control, low social skills or low IQ or all of those things. They are literally defective humans who target little kids because they see them as easy prey.

Going after teens doesn't make someone a pedophile. You have your Jeffrey Epstein types, with an interest in younger teens, but he's still not technically a pedophile. "Psychos" like Dahmer and Gacy were generally interested in older teens. This is the norm for homosexual males. For that matter, it's also the norm for heterosexual males. Ephebophilia is therefore not considered paraphilic. Dahmer and Gacy weren't aberrant by being ephebophiles, but were aberrant by being homosexuals.
