To be fair, the article goes on to state that would be only on profits that exceeded pre-pandemic levels, and only for companies worth a half billion dollars or more.

The elites did transfer a ton of wealth to these billionaires during the pandemic. This in no way hurts small businesses or normal people, just the corrupt companies like Amazon and Pfizer and Google that made billions off the pandemic

This is pure elite worship fear-mongering propaganda.

Corporations are competition to government, so you want to make sure that by crushing corporations you do not end up empowering government.
