The part about signs in windows made me laugh. Pleading with, or debasing yourself to, violent mobs who proclaim to be anarchists or “revolutionaries” is only showing weakness; thus encouraging more destruction and violence.

If you’re going to hang up a sign outside your home/business to ward off mobs, make it a threat of retaliation. If they attempt to damage your property or injure you, the ones who can actually read should have a single warning: “Trespassers/vandals will be shot on sight. Survivors will be shot again. Fuck off or die. Period.”

I live today in very small mountain hamlet far outside Seattle. About 2 months ago the BLM folks decided to have a car party and that in the parking lot in front of my apartment. LOTS of them I suppose getting ready to go for a ride. There is a ghetto black couple who lives 2 doors down from me so I suppose they were the host of the car party. I got myself dressed up nicely and went outside with my Mossberg 500 and an evil looking fuck it is. 12gg with a suppressor on end looks like it could swallow a golf ball. Approaching crowd who grew VERY quiet I made one simple request. GO AWAY. RIGHT NOW. A very large female gorilla came forward at me starting to scream at me and my response? One rack of the slide. Pointed end right at her head. Her fat ugly mouth snapped shut and she was led away. My parking lot cleared in about 2 minutes. And do I fear them coming back = why no. I do not. I have been in recent habit of loading my 12gg into Jeep when I walk out to leave and make a plain display of retrieving when I get home to walk inside. Ugly evil will simply not back down until confronted and I'm quite ready to confront. Folks of Portland and downtown Seattle are not. In small mountain town = o yes we are. A great many of us.

They're not anarchists. Anarchists are voluntaristic and don't push their agendas on others.

LOL wrong. This is some weird theory that, as we've seen, simply does not agree with reality.

I have to admit, this is a very well-written article, well researched, and that unherd.com appears to offer original research and opinion like this regularly. Portland deserves much more attention, as rioters (esp. including anarchists) are getting much more organized there, by contrast to protests in some other cities. It would be interesting to know more about the concerns of non-violent protestors, and their views of the rioters. There have been videos of protestors trying to stop violence and destruction. But there are also otherwise peaceful protestors behind the front lines of violent protestors, most consistently in Portland. A really complicated development in Portland, which I hope does not lead to increased police surveillance of the Orwellian kind, but this may be necessary.

"Not all of the SA were involved in Kristallnacht. It would be interesting to know more about the concerns of nonviolent protesters, and their view of the glass-shatterers."

which I hope does not lead to increased police surveillance of the Orwellian kind, but this may be necessary.

You kidding? Ordinary policing would have done the trick long ago. Portland's mayor sympathizes with the SA, sorry I mean Antifa, and won't let the police do their job..

Remember, there are two kinds of fascists: fascists and anti-fascists.

Sounds like he's given up. Jesus, at least move out of there, Bret.

Jesus, just buy a gun and shoot the rioters. It will soon stop.

It is America.
