Love how the article talks about "incredible courage"... She has a gun, the guy has matches. No courage required. Still, good on her.

She presumably used her shuttlecraft's scanners to check for the presence of weapons before approaching him, and a single shot from her phaser would have immediately stunned anybody standing in front of it. Definitely no courage required if she lives in Star Trek.
