Definitely have seen a resurgence in the term this year. Don't expect the pejorative to go away anytime soon, given where we are

Well, you can call people you do not like "Cannibalistic Child-Molesting Lizard-People" if you like. Some people hereabouts do.

But if you use silly words you cannot expect others to take you seriously.

I think any pejorative shorthand for communists would have similar connotations and the same effect.

There are no real Communists left. The Chinese Communist Party now includes millionaire industrialists. The Russian Communist Party is as powerhouse among the old and senile. There are not even any Maoists left in Peru, and I think we can all agree we miss those lethal goofs. The Indian Communist Party has been fractured in three for decades. Does the CPUS even have a post office box now that the Soviets are no longer paying the light bills?

Some people say they are Communists. Some people say they were born on Mars. But there are no real Communist movements left. That train left the station decades ago.

I used to be a fucking commie due to the brainwashing on Reddit. It doesn't have to do with where I live, but what I believe. The ideology is the problem.
