I guess this time it's for real.

I thought "the leader" was killed twice before. I don't know if it was bad reporting back then or my memory, but it turns out they were his brothers...

  • " On 10 December 1991, Shabalala's brother and one of the bass members in the group, Headman Shabalala, was shot and killed by Sean Nicholas, a white off-duty security guard.[20][21] Headman's death was followed by the retirement of two members in 1993, and Shabalala recruited three of his sons into the group. "
  • " Joseph's brother Ben Shabalala, a former member of the group who had retired in 1993 after the death of Headman, was killed in a Durban suburb in June 2004.[15][27] "

My favourite:
Ladysmith Black Mombazo Passage to Promise (feat. Andreas Vollenweider) (2:27)
I think it was first on Vollenweider's Book Of Roses album.

  1. Felt the need to describe the man as white; failed to explain the context.

  2. No information about the killer is listed. I wonder why.

Ya, Wikipedia is hardly propaganda free. But it's always my first stop for the "official" narrative. Sometimes, that's enough. Sometimes it's just the start.

Thanks for actually looking. Sometimes I wonder if my links are ever worth the effort.
