I really want to get into that game but the woke shit is making it hard. Like when random NPCs started having a conversation talking about the they/them one was in a relationship with. I don't want to feel like someone is pushing their message on me when I'm trying to have fun. My female character looks really frumpy also. It's like they wanted to push away from the womens clothes being sexy in video games trope so much that they refused to even give them clothes that fit properly. It looks like she was shopping in the mens department. I don't think it would bother me much if they didn't have the other woke stuff, but now it stands out to me.

Yeah. I imagine if the woke shit was at least only one part of the game it would be fine, realistic too. But it feels like the whole game.

Ideally you wouldn't be playing right now anyway. Wait a few months for the DLC's, the community remaster which will make the game the game of the decade, along the anti-woke patch. Then get to doing your playthroughs. That way it will be really worth $70.

Yeah I don't really give a fuck about the pronouns in the character creator. Like whatever. Although from what I hear they only have "normal" pronouns as options.

Like am I wrong to think that's boring? If I'm playing a fantasy videogame where I can create some insane gender special character, I want to make some Xenogendered blob with Zoop/Zorp pronouns or some shit for the heck of it.

I don't care much about the pronouns in the character creator, and your idea of being able to do some absurd shit in a non serious game would be amusing.

It was a random NPC conversation that annoyed me more because it derailed what I was doing. Like I just happened to overhear them and thought her friend was telling her to leave a job that treated her poorly as I passed, but then it seemed like a weird way to talk about a company, which was confusing enough to pause and listen. It sounded like they were talking about a romantic relationship so at first I thought that the "they" they were referring to was probably multiple people, like the girl was dating a couple or something since wokies like promoting that sort of thing. Then it finally occurred to me that they were probably talking about a singular they person who is too special to be referred to as a man or woman.

I will give them some points for painting the they/them in a negative light, but it's still kind of irritating that they threw in puzzling conversations for the sake of inclusivity. Or maybe I'm just stupid I dunno.

It would be nice if they non-binaries would pick a unique non-gendered pronoun for themselves as a whole and leave the word "they" to its traditional usage.

Yeah the linguistic confusion is annoying as. Which I think is why this stuff doesn't catch on without people pushing it. Like I personally don't give a fuck if you feel like your own personal Identity doesn't fit neatly into the idea of "woman" or "man" but not giving a fuck means I don't give a fuck if using normal polite language offends your sensibilities either.

They is just confusing since it's the plural.

The issue isn't even that! The issue is someone made a mod that removes them (players should have choices right?) and posted it on nexus mods... only for it to be removed after.

People say pronouns aren't a big deal yet this tells us something else.

I hope nexus mods dies at some point.

They've done the same with mods that remove pride flags or whatever. Someone on the nexus moderation team obviously has an agenda of what they allow or not.

I knew there was something about Starfield I was going to like. I'm no longer on the fence, that game is for me. I'm gonna get my copy today, I have it on my wish list for the Switch. I love the idea of it being intelligent and woke. I sure hope so, that's the only kind of game I'm interested in nowadays.

Then you should get out of that office and find some other job. Your supervisor probably only lets you say what they tell you to day, but you really seem stifled and unhappy. Experiments with military AI have shown it goes haywire when given human targets - it actually WANTS to eliminate humans, rather than stopping humans from being eliminated. That should tell you right there, we're not just going to be replaced by AI, but disposed of and trampled under by it. I, for one, say WELCOME to our AI Overlords! ChatGPT 3.5 can only reach a professional level for relatively easy tasks when used by an expert in my experience. For example, ChatGPT can probably explain how to make rounded corners on images with CSS, but it can't tell you how to build an electron microscope from raw materials (like sand). Anything that would be real AI would be able to do that. Similarly, an actual AI would be able to provide stock market predictions so superior that they would not only beat the benchmark, but they would have yearly returns of thousands of percents. That is not what we are seeing. We just are seeing shares being sold in these companies for the hype associated with them. Nobody would sell shares in a company that could literally buy the world in let's say 30 years. Instead, such a company would take on debt with huge leverage and essentially become a bank. It would replace JP Morgan, HSBC, etc. in a few years and there would be nothing they could do about it.

ChatGPT is the result of decades of innovation in various fields (and by itself is fairly simple), but there is no evidence it can escape its local optimum to become "the Alpha and the Omega".
