Russia obviously sabotaged the pipelines, as part of their general military strategy in recent weeks to cut off energy and water resources in Ukraine, and to cut off gas to Europe. Remember that Russia previously turned off the flow of gas for a while.

This makes zero sense. Why would the Russians destroy THEIR OWN pipeline when they could have achieved the same result by simply continuing to shut off the gas. By destroying the pipeline, they would have then permanently eliminated what leverage they had over Germany and Europe to get them to ease sanctions or stop supporting the Zelensky regime.

Do you even believe your own argument? Are you really that dumb, or just a liar?

Why would the Russians destroy THEIR OWN pipeline

After the ruzzia's attack on ns1, only ns2 remains to carry the gas.

Ns2 was not approved by German political committee - now the ruzzia believes it has left ns2 as the only remaining choice for germany.

The ruzzia believes that Germany will freeze without their gas, and the ruzzia knows for a fact that it's own economy will die without gas sales to Europe. After they blew up NS1, the ruzzia has ensured that the gas lifeline will be on it's terms alone.

Oh is that the latest story now, that the Russians blew up and disabled 3 out of 4 of their own pipelines, while allowing nearly a billion dollars of their own natural gas to escape, and losing leverage with Germany and Europe, in order to haggle a marginally better deal with their one remaining pipeline? If your elaborate nonsensical conspiracy theory is right would mean ns2 comes online this winter, which you and I both know wont happen? What's going to be the new story when that doesn't happen?

Is that really the best you could come up with? And wtf is this 'the ruzzia' shit you weirdo?

...they blew up a functioning approved conduit to use their neither useful nor ready other pipe for "clever ruzzia polytick thinks"?

    What??

Possible, but only because dictators make monumentally dumb decisions from time to time. Not because your argument makes any sense. Because it doesn't. It's shit

This is the most plausible explanation I've heard.

It's very hard to find a player with something to gain from the loss of NS1, but this is something. And fits with Russia's rhetoric.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday offered to resume gas supplies to Europe through the intact part of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

"The ball is in the EU's court. If they want to, then the taps can be turned on and that's it," he said in a speech at an energy forum in Moscow.

Why would the Russians destroy THEIR OWN pipeline when they could have achieved the same result by simply continuing to shut off the gas.

Because shutting it off makes the Russians the obvious bad guys, but wrecking it and pointing fingers at the Americans as the ones responsible gives them useful political leverage?

Because shutting it off makes the Russians the obvious bad guys

Why would it make them look like the bad guys when it's the west that has established crippling sanctions that seeks to put ordinary Russians in grinding poverty? It’s all the US actively killing Russians using US hardware, including Russian civilians, and yet you think shutting off the pipeline under the condition that it would be restarted if all this hostility stopped makes them look like the bad guy?

but wrecking it and pointing fingers at the Americans as the ones responsible gives them useful political leverage?

What audience exactly is this supposed to give them leverage with when the entire western media instantly blamed Russia and censored any other narrative? Isn't the simpler solution that the US or it's proxies did exactly what they said they were going to do given they have the most to gain from this, especially with the growing circumstantial evidence that they were responsible?

well, no matter what happens, it will always be the russians who did it. Some are so caught up in black and white thinking, that it won't be any other way
