I wonder why the others in the parliament didn't question whether it was just cause or not.

Probably because the building where they would normally come to such a decision had just burned down. The ensuing chaos probably made it difficult for a counter-movement to form quickly enough. Not to mention the slower speed at which information moved back then compared to now.

The Reichstag didn't burn down. The fire was small and limited to a small area of the building. All factions proceeded to take advantage of the situation, and at the end the national socialists ended up on top. Yes the arsonist was a leftist.
