Shouldn't this be what is the biggest piece of shit rather than who?

Did you know Zerohedge is banned sitewide on reddit? Posting links get instantly deleted by magnora7 in MeanwhileOnReddit

I don't know anything about zerohedge (although it sounds interesting). I am surprised though that they didn't put up their own website to shadow their most important content. I don't know why content authors give up editorial control, in this fashion, to the global tech elites.

If the maths and physics subreddits moved from Reddit to here I would have no reason to stay there.

Correct me if I am wrong but this doesn't sound like a subreddit ban but a ban site wide. Once reddit admin political biases start descending into individual subreddits then it could mean the value of Reddit as a whole goes down ( especially in terms of free speech ).

Your moderation tools are that powerful? You can ban that many users at once?

So when are they going to build the electric aeroplanes and the electric boats?

In New Zealand it jumped from $2.60 to $2.80 in what seems to be the space of a few days. Some places in NZ it is over $3. Because we are metric that is the price per litre (not gallons) For us that is a colossal jump to see happen all at once.

I'm reserving my judgement. The court case by the Civil Liberties Association hasn't yet gone ahead. I think the protesters may have been tricked. It's quite possible the Emergency Act may have not been ratified when it got through the upper house. (I'm not an expert on Canadian politics so I don't know for sure). It could mean that the Trudeau-ites got their way without the Emergency Act ever being ratified.

I am hoping it will become clear soon whether peaceful protests are lawful or unlawful in Canada.

OK, so you are talking about a foreign entity, such as the WMF, putting in one of their guys as candidates during elections and fund their election campaign up to the eyeballs. That much makes sense I guess.

I haven't heard the protest itself has fallen apart. Just the Ottawa occupation.

I might have to look into the role of the WMF in curbing nations that might get ideas about their station, like democracy for instance. I am just trying to wrap my head around the idea of a school where children pledge their allegiance to the WMF. Beginning to sound like something out of a Jim Carre spy novel. (Particularly the TV version of Brotherhood of the Rose).

I would still like to know what would motivate any nation to give up their sovereignty to some kind of international entity like this.

Like conspiring to honk the horns of trucks? Would the courts have to prove, beyond reasonable doubt, that she gave the order for the honking of horns or just that they saw her honk her horn at least one time in her life?

However there may be a point there. What was on the order? Was it prohibiting trucks from being within so many kilometers of parliament or something like that?

How does belonging to the WMF or WEF (or other european financial institute) give presidents and prime ministers extra powers? Sorry, genuinely confused here. Has Canada given up some of its sovereignty to foreign interests?

Without talks in good faith from both sides, de-escalation is impossible? Well at least very improbable. The interesting thing is that was never allowed to happen. One wonders why.

The problem with "advocating violence", at least for us mere mortals, is that we end up closing the door to peaceful options and at that point there is no turning back. I am also reminded of places like Kazikstan which really did seem have grounds for taking their country back by force but that weren't forward thinking enough to consider what Putin would do.

This is a response I found on wikipedia (which may not be considered an authoritative historical source).

Four weeks into his chancellorship, the Reichstag building caught fire in the middle of the night.[4] Hitler blamed the incident on the communists and was convinced the arson was part of a larger effort to overthrow the German government. Using this justification, Hitler persuaded Hindenburg to enact the Reichstag Fire Decree. The decree abolished most civil liberties including the right to speak, assemble, protest, and due process. Using the decree the Nazis declared a state of emergency and began to arrest, intimidate, and purge his political enemies.

It seems to me that there really was insufficient grounds for accessing these emergency powers. I wonder why the others in the parliament didn't question whether it was just cause or not.

I should have been more specific. I mean some of my posts were banned because they were considered to be asking questions that might reflect negatively on certain world leaders and highly charged political events. Not that they had already reflected negatively. That is how I learn, by asking questions. Apparently some believe that learning about certain political issues is taboo.

Had a look at the pyramid. Where do most discussions on here sit with respect to that? Contradiction? Tone Response? Ad Hominem?

That sounds reasonable. I don't think I will be threatening anyone with violence. The logistics of even carrying that out would be phenomenal. I would have to get on an 18 hour flight from down under, get past customs, find out where to buy a baseball bat (or hockey stick) and then find the address of someone on social media who criticised my mental health. I would have to such extraordinary private investigation skills to pull anything like that off. So no I won't be threatening anyone. I won't be selling anything and have no interest in pornography so so far so good.
