This is why it should have been obvious all along that people need untraceable crypto such as monero.

Except monero is now a perfect target for 51% attacks, so we need to promote PirateChain instead. I loved monero but 51% attacks being possible is making that crypto essentially worthless.

Maybe. I've heard good things about EPIC cash and BEAM, but I have yet to study them in any depth, and with my screwed up brain, I don't know that I'll be able to at any time soon.

Ethereum has privacy options: Aztec and Tornado.

Ethereum is actually evil though.

I hope they can take every penny from the trucker protest, give it to the shops and business and citizens that lost money from the protest.

Incredibly short-sighted take. Imagine someone you hate gets elected and when you try to protest against them for something you believe in they just freeze your bank accounts, label you a terrorist, and seize funds donated by supporters of your cause. And when you cry out against it they just point to this event, which you and others cheered for, and say if they could do it for the truckers they can surely do it for you too.

Incredibly short-sighted take.

Yes, truckers and other dim witted shit for brains come into a town and take over not giving a fuck about the residents, then make demands https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/ottawa-homeless-shelter-staff-harassed-by-convoy-protesters-demanding-food-1.5760423

Elsewhere on saidit, "Quick buy bitcoin to save you from the evil government."

They are getting desperate to try to shill here with us paupers.

But then apparently a lot of people in the third world have put all their savings in crypto as a get rich quick scheme.

It's illegally invoked. The Act specifically forbids its invocation for protests and citizen dissent. Plus, this PROPOSAL (not decision, but proposal) has to be approved by the Senate, and Turdeau has a minority government with a lot of opposition, so it will most likely be rejected by the Senate.

The Act lists 4 possible reasons for its invocation, and these are: espionage, foreign coup, serious violence, and violent overthrow. None of these has any resemblance to what's happening, which is EXACTLY what the Emergencies Act forbids against using for its invocation: protests and dissent.
