That'd complicate things. Sure one can sue a dr for malpractice. Then you have to worry about court costs and corrupt judges. But the teens who got surgeries already ruined their bodies, money will help but it'd be better to have outlawed the unnecessary surgery in the first place.

The people who got surgeries are overwhelmingly satisfied with the results of you do long term follow up studies.

The surgery is much less unnecessary than all the other cosmetic surgery that goes on thousands of times more often.

That's subjective, can't read their minds, they're likely afraid to speak out about their regret. That's a good point about cosmetic surgery. Depending on the risks involved that should be outlawed too. We see people dying sometimes from breast implant surgery, unnecessary. Most agree to outlaw that for children.

That's right. You have to ask them.

they're likely afraid to speak out about their regret.

Marking your regret and satisfaction on a 5 point scale doesn't make people afraid.

Depending on the risks involved that should be outlawed too.

The risks of regret are certainly much higher. We should start outlawing other cosmetic surgery first, and leave the ones like gender reassignment that have such overwhelmingly positive outcomes at least until after we've stopped doing the questionable ones.
