I could go to the local college and audit any class I like.
but a parent can not even 'eavesdrop' on what their own children are being taught?

math teacher: "...so two plus two equals five, for extremely large values of two..."

seems legit.

I would enjoy auditing a seventh grade girls volleyball practice class, and definitely i want to audit the showering session after the game..

it would be nice to let the girls know that we have an interest in their well being.

To audit a college class, you need usually permission from the professor and must pay tuition for the class.

yep, that's how it's done!

It would cause unrest because parents would phone the school constantly concerning what a teacher said, did, or didn't do in class.

source? Do you have a link to a peer-reviewed article? Nice anecdote, bro.

The source of the complaints would most likely be the parents.

An anecdote is a "a short amusing or interesting story about a real incident or person."

I did not provide an anecdote but rather just a general statement which may or may not be true. It's just my opinion.
