How is that corruption? They aren't going to donate to right wing candidates if they want to do nothing to hold cops accountable.

Yes but why not fund lobby groups to reform police misconduct law, rather than just vaguely give it to one political party who doesn't care much either

That's a good point. I think they are in the US vs them mentality at this moment as the dems have been giving BLM lip service they will pick them and aren't thinking next level. But then again the outrage may spark change anyways.

I hope so. I think some people in power are getting a little worried, so they might feel forced to pass some laws that improve the situation for the common person, in order to maintain their positions of power. I think that sort of pressure works.

I also agree with this. However the police is also very powerful in terms of funding and politics, so instead of another "weaker" lobbying entity it might be more sensible to do it through a more powerful political party.

People think this money is going toward pro black charities when it reality, it's going to the whitest candidate in the race.

Yes, people think they're supporting Black Lives, and in reality, they're giving money to the old white guy who literally said "If you don't vote democrat, then you ain't black!"

isn't "old white guy" when used this way meant to be an anti-white slur? as in "old dead white men" to describe historical figures and their significant contributions?

there's nothing wrong with biden being old, or white -- his problem is his pandering and exploitive behavior. it would be a problem whatever his age or race.

You're right, the exploitative behavior is the problem. There's nothing wrong with being old or white, it's just weird that the organization that is supposedly going to fix things for black lives... is a white guy.

It'd be like if the President of India was a Chinese guy. I'd have questions. It just kind of doesn't make sense because he doesn't really represent the demographic asking for representation

yeah I get why pointing out his non-black race is relevant here, it just sounded slur-like since pointing out his age wasn't. I get that people just say what comes naturally from what they've heard, but if it's just subconscious that's when it's good to bring it to conscious awareness, right?

anyway it was a tangent, but I felt bad about not saying anything when I've been trained to in similar circumstances for every other racial group except whites. so I didn't want to just be silent since I do have a voice.

Fair enough

If you don't vote for Biden then you ain't black!
