It doesn't though? And the camera has zero trouble with red colors as can be seen everywhere on the screen. The firethingy, the cap, the printer etc.

It doesn't even fade red. Just screenshot it and sample the color with paint. It's not dark red. It's black.

It's not an issue with red colors in general. It's an issue of small low contrast areas of red and yellow (yellow being green + red). Go frame by frame in the vid of the body and you will see frames that look more like black with a white stripe, albeit to a lesser degree.

Also it is worth thinking rationally and asking yourself if it makes any amount of sense that any entity would go to the trouble of staging such an event and then say "meh don't worry about the shoes they look close enough".

black to red, black to yellow, these are not low contrast

Yellow on white and dark red bordering black are definitely low contrast especially when the regions containing these colors are heavily pixelated; tf is wrong with you?

they're not heavily pixelated LMAO

Small contrast areas? Explain to me how the color is black. It doesn't just look black, it is black. There is no red in it. The colors aren't shifted.

And look at what you're suggesting:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chroma_subsampling

It doesn't even do what you're claiming it would do. The debunking of this is hilarious. Where did you even get the idea that chroma subsampling would do this?

The important part is that the printed paper disagrees with your chroma subsampling explanation in an obvious way.
