The UK gov has gone out if it's way to conceal the fact the majority of our population contracted Covid and recovered.

The UK gov did a test to death study (55k) that showed mortality was 1/400 for original Covid and 1/350 for Kent.

If you then look at our deaths, 125k.. 80k died from original (32 million infected) and 45k died from Kent (14m). That's 46m out if 67 m. That's 70% of our population functionally immune for a few years. Through natural herd immunity.

However it gets better, it looks like about 20% of our dead actually died with Covid not of it. So our deaths are about 100k, possibly less.

It looks like the real reason we had such a high death toll compared to other countries way on was down to how we recorded deaths. It also puts mortality of original Covid at more like 0.25% at the start (march 2020) and more like 0.2% as we got a bit better at treatment in autumn 2020, and Kent at 0.24%.

Flu mortality is about 0.1%.

A far cry from the 1.1% the ons antibody study tried to sell us in June.
