While I value individual liberties and think people's own subjectivity is one of the greatest thing they possess, I also value ethics a great deal and that is why I think that in a healthy society, people's own freedom should never go above the responsibility that they have with their own past, nation and people.
Even the US for example, should teach us what the results of too much freedom really are. Despite the fact that the US is admired for the wealth is created for its own people and the law system is supposedly defends, the truth is that most people are completely clueless about the crimes the deep state has done everywhere, or that it doesn't really respect the law system, or the people it is supposed to serve. So the US in a strange fashion has been waging war against half the entire world for the sake of a really bad agenda while most people are distracted with trivial things.
It's up to the people who value ethics to fight for real institutions and authorities that truly value people's happiness.
