Marranos are not Jewish converts to Christianity. Loyola of the Jesuits came from Jewish ancestry, though not a Jew, but many of his Jesuit friends were formerly Jews who had converted to Christianity who actually preached the gospel.

Whereas, Marranos are secretly Jews pretending to be Christians with the goal of infiltrating and destroying the Catholic Church; which, today, they are doing quite well.
