In the late 80's, a sex ring was exposed involving high level politicians, members of the church, and members of the media in Boys Town Nebraska. Victims who spoke out were silenced, charged with perjury, and some even murdered.

I remember reading that they even convicted two of the child victims (adults at the time of trial) of perjury and the victims did prison time basically for speaking out and trying to get justice. Allegedly the judge and his family were threatened.
