I think the psychological aspects of reality have a huge influence in controlling our perception of the same, that's the reason why the people in the dark cults seek control of the media, Jung was the one who in my opinion studied these psychological archetypes the most.

Synchronicity is a concept of Jung related to the idea of meaningful related events and images to the individual himself, which he later used to develop his idea of the archetypes. Jung thought that by studying these archetypes in dreams one could reach a more complete personality and what he called individuation.
