Those people in the water are still fully connected to, and trusting in, the system, that's why they are in the water waiting for the government to rescue them. Over the horizon is a flotilla of little yachts sailing off to safety, these are the people who unplugged themselves, took control of their own lives back from the corrupt system. It's not that hard to do, you can even milk the system after you leave, why not?

The first step though is the hardest, you have to ditch your TV and start thinking for yourself.

Then you have to be prepared to break a few morally corrupt laws like the income tax laws.

You have to realize that's it's stupid to borrow money for new cars, furniture, computers and anything else short of a home. In other words you have to take back control of your own finances from the banks and become your own bank.

You also need to stop wasting money on crap too, stuff like cable TV, the latest smart phone or anything else you can't afford to buy out of surplus income after you have saved a goodly portion. 99.9% of people are not people anymore, they are consumers, trained to buy expensive foods, expensive cloths, and hundred of liters of sugary drinks or over-priced coffees every year.

If you can do all this then you have the beginnings of freedom, but remember, a lifetime spent plugged into the Matrix cannot be undone in two weeks or even two years. You have to rebuild your life so that if the government and all it's services disappeared tomorrow you could still do ok while all around you are tearing their hair out.
