This isn't just being pedantic. You could have at least looked up the definition of a presidential pardon.

A presidential pardon is an official expression of forgiveness that removes the civil penalties—restrictions on the right to vote, hold elected office, and sit on a jury, for example—and, often, the stigma attached to criminal convictions.

Rosenburg can't do any of those things. Confusing the difference between commute and pardon is like mixing up the words innocent and guilty. If you want to be really oblique, you could argue that you were using the casual, non-presidential definition of pardon in a sentence about a president. Come on, man.
