Jordan Peterson talks about post-modernism constantly. It's an interesting descriptor, but I almost feel like it's a placeholder in a way.

It was never supposed to leave philosophical thought, because that's what philosophers do, they are supposed to experiment with strange points of view, but it was used by the elites to infect the social sciencies. So ironically, instead of being used as a weapon to think outside the box in order to destroy the status quo, it has made it much more powerful since they use it to justify their sophistry.

I'm sure a lot of people aren't ok about the many narratives and arguments the SJW use to push PC culture and all that, this thread from Kiwifarms describes how Post-Modernism is used in order to semi-justify their arguments.

It's a very good thread talking about the way in which Post-Modernism was used for the elites to justify their narratives and push for mass censorship and how they seek to escape science.

This seems up your ally:

Though all the 'post-modernism' is not what it is in philosophy, it has become a word like cuck. It's a cherry-picked and based on nothing definition when it's used in this context and usually very wrongly places it together in a weird mix with marxism 'postmodern-neo-marxism' memed into the world by JP and him stressing out over the A-bomb and gulags for forty years [he also can't stop talking how much he has read and how long he has thought about think, like really really long]. Funny thing is, his "I read Jung and the bible but can't say if I believe if Jesus really came back" is basically what Jean-François Lyotard believes according to the posted thread:

This dumb cunt had no idea what he was talking about. He is the one that started the anecdotal evidence is ‘real’ and personal belief in culture trumps any sort of objective reality. Therefore you can say scientists doubted the scientific method and have it hold true.

The strange leap of the philosophers to the cherrypicked examples of post-modernism in practice 'boggles me mind' (as the Great Karl Pilkington would say). But it also comes into the difficult territory of When are you something? Are you a christian if you say you are, or when you go to church or when you try to burn down the church because that's what God commands you?

Postmodernism is the deconstruction of everything, so social policies (especially weird ones like postive discrimination or being against racism by being racist to the former {in history} racists) can't arise from it because it would be deconstructed to YOU.

A quick 'Red-pill' on Post-modernism is, oh yeah, The Matrix (2 and 3 are a bit more early-christian/gnostic/Buddhist imho). Everything is code, you are the master, but was does it mean to be the master, the admin above the admin, the maker of reality? {Like the SJWs as a group seem more like Smith, though his cloning abilities are from the last 2 movies}

The so called SJW and these weird/dangerous social policies are just as cherry picking when using old thinkers, philosophical concepts and rhetoric. Like badly copy/pasted by dyslectic script-kiddies build minecraft mod NPCs, sure in your modded minecraft server you're the master but what about your real life? {The 'you' in this paragraph are referring to the SJW strawman I made up here}.

Conclusion: I get you, but the words are misused when it comes to post-modernism and the ranting and bantering about that isn't what is going to help. The search for the self and therefor the community around you is what comes out of total deconstruction of yourself and the world.

I don't really dislike JP, just don't praise him. I liked his Live shows with Sam Harris, but yeah he can't answer the Jesus question 'because that would take too long' yeah nah, just say yes, no, maybe and be done. (And his reading/thinking skills are expressed to a cringe factor by himself) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-Z9EZE8kpo <worth a watch (all 4, youtube probably puts them in a playlist)

Sorry for this long rant, it's summer hot here for some reason and I have a good battery-life and nothing to do
