I think you are right, in a way.

We are constantly told ideas that we then repeat and internalize. We sometimes do this more often than we actually observe and process the world around us. We're trained to do so in school, for the most part.

Coming back to the present moment is the ultimate. Being lost in ideas of the future or the past, is just to be lost in a land of imagination. The present moment is the most real thing there is, and when we connect with what is real it makes us more real.
