Of all the forms of lemming behavior on display, it still boggles my mind that the average Joe uses public DNS. It would be trivial to set up a private DNS system and more secure.

It doesn't matter which DNS server you're using if domain registrars are confiscating domains at the request of the UN. DNS services (even private ones) pull their info from the central domain registrars.

Now, decentralized DNS on the other hand is long overdue. I think with this type of censorship we'll see more adoption of blockchain based DNS like Namecoin, or TOR / I2P .onion and .i2p addresses.
