Remember when kids used to have to read Fahrenheit 451, 1984, A Brave New World, The Giver, and a myriad of other speculative fiction novels regarding censorship and government control? Remember how it was hammered into peoples heads that free speech is the most important right confirmed by our constitution, and that nothing, even the idea of "safety" was worth forfeiting that right? I remember, and it wasn't even all that long ago.
