The whole concept of safe spaces baffles me. The world is violent, angry, vicious, greedy, shallow and self centred. The sooner we all realise this the better it will be. Stop lying to people.

Exactly. By shielding these people from critcism, social media is actively handicapping them.
At some point you WILL experience aggression and discomfort. Possibly even violence. Preparing for that inevitability is always better than being caught with your pants down.
