Don't wanna be a Canadian Idiot. Don't wanna be some beer swigging hockey nut. Maple syrup and snows what they export. They treat curling just like it's a real sport.

Splendid isolation! It's not like we have 106 years of history to explain why this is wrong.

OP knows why the last 106 years of history prove this dumb meme wrong. He just wants to virtue signal for the ruZ simps.

I get it op, youre a virtue signaller. It doesn't matter that April 1917 proved your stupid meme wrong once and for all. You just need to signal your pro-Z virtues, I get it

You sound like a fucking female. Man the fuck up

....man up and .... remember that Woodrow Wilson was our great-great grandparents generation? And that America already left splendid isolation 106 years ago with fantastic results? Okay

OP is not even saying "I desire the end of globalism and computers and the internet" like the meme implies. He's just virtue signalling to his Z friends. I get it.

Woodrow Wilson was a shitbag who fucked over the entire country by signing the federal reserve act.

Okay well if you're ready to give up microchips and liquid natural gas, you're free to take yourself back to the pre-wilson splendid isolation days

[–]Oyveygoyim 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

You think Woodrow Wilson is responsible for microchips and natural gas...

[–]Site_rly_sux 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

He has a major chunk of responsibility for America's contribution to international order, which includes Bretton Woods and using America's navy to keep the sea lanes open.

This enabled the clean, almost free energy of LNG out of Caucasus/Qatar and the global microchips industry which includes Dutch lithography, American designers and Taiwanese fabs.

So yeah if you want to believe stupid memes like the OP.

Then say goodbye to LNG and microchips.

And say goodbye to America selling Hollywood and Fords and Hawaiian pineapples the planet over.

America becomes net poorer and humanity returns to 1920s tech levels. That's what Putin wants. Do you know how feared and effective the chekhists were in the 20s? If you read gulag archipelago, you can see, exactly why Putin and Xi and Kim and trump and the mullahs want to go back to pre-globalism days

Wow...I don't even know where to begin with that load of bullshit.

Okay which part don't you agree with

Do you disagree that modern technology requires globalism?

Do you disagree that America requires modern technology?

Or did you disagree with the events a century ago when the American president finally decided to end America's splendid isolation.

Perhaps if you try and identify a specific fact which you think is wrong, it will be a good start for addressing my post.

However I don't think you'll find anything factual - which means your problem is simply cognitive dissonance.

I do disagree that modern tech requires globalism. Woodrow Wilson handing our country over to jewish bankers was the beginning of the mess that we have today.

Just propaganda of isolationism/non-interventionism, which is popular in some circles.

    For good reason.

People have different ethical principles though. When psychologists studied the trolley problem they found out that "about 90% of respondents have chosen to kill the one and save the five", i.e. to intervene. This is not that dissimilar from taking a decision to intervene in a war.

I think we need to stop doing this kind of thing and look towards ourselves for a while. We have a lot of work to do in-house and I think it's high time we prioritized that. Outrageous that we're handing over hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine when we have so many issues here.

Add to that, I'm not sold on NATO anymore. Their mission is accomplished, USSR is dead. Time to dissolve that outdated organization and let the EU handle their own problems. We can always lend a hand, but I'm sick of being called imperialists whenever we intervene.

Iraq and Afghanistan were a shit-show and useless. In the end it did nothing but alienate us in the Middle East. Same everywhere we stick our noses. When was the last time our intervention had a positive effect? WWII?

Ukraine and the United States have had diplomatic relations since 1991 when the US recognized Ukraine's independence. The US supports Ukraine's sovereignty and its bid to join NATO. After the annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014, the US has become one of Ukraine's largest defense partners, providing military aid and pledging support during the 2022 Russian invasion. Ukrainians view the US positively, and the current ambassador of the US to Ukraine is Bridget A. Brink, and the current Ukrainian ambassador to the US is Oksana Markarova. The CIA cooperated with the Ukrainian independence movement in the Soviet Union during the Cold War. The US aims to promote Ukraine's democratic society with a prosperous market-based economy.
