El Salvador's homicide totals have dropped from 6,656 in 2015 — an average of about 18 per day — to 18 so far this year.

It is a massive rights violation, but on the other hand, it's pretty hard to sit on your throne in Guantanamo and argue with those numbers.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. This is what people tend to miss, when it's time for those desperate measures people's rights, the laws of the land, them pesky constitutions and bills of rights, they go right out the window.

Don't get me wrong, I think they did the right thing.

The best form of government is a benevolent dictator, however, such governments rarely last beyond a generation, as those who follow, or usurp power after the inevitable death of the leader want it because they are power-hungry, and end up abusing the carte-blanche power.

Their president was re-elected by a landslide. It’s what the people want.
