Who had what to gain from the action? Why would Ukraine think that targeting the Kremlin had strong chance to succeed? On the other hand, a false flag action gives Putin "justification" to use deadlier force.

When Ukraine commits obvious false flag ops, the western press laps it up and anyone saying it is a false flag is a "crazy conspiracy theorist".

When Ukraine does something dumb, that same western press is all "it must have been a Russian false flag".

Don't expect anything rational from Ukraine:

  • the country is lead by a coke head who rightly fears if he doesn't win the war, Right Sector or some other far-right Nazi militia is going to kill him;
  • the US is pulling the strings, they're till convinced that they can bleed Russia to death and they don't care how many Ukrainians will die doing it;
  • the Ukrainian political and military leadership is rotten to the core, they're pocketing about half the money the US gives them, selling weapons, and they have no idea what they're doing.

This is exactly the sort of half-wit idea that would appeal to them.

I doubt Putin is even going to respond to this.

When you provide actual evidence that this "attack" is legitimate, then I'll believe it. The Russian government claiming it's a Ukrainian attack is not enough to convince me. Show evidence of Ukrainian equipment, show video footage of the drone flying in and attacking. Give me something more than evidence of flames outside of the walls and some spokesman saying "we were attacked." I don't know why you think I don't hold the Russian government to the same standard as I would the US Government.

Everything else you're going on about is irrelevant and frankly comes off as confused.

The video is available everywhere. Here's a pro-Ukrainian US source talking about it. Of course their "expert" is going to push the "false-flag" fairy tale but that's because the American regime cannot tell the truth if their life depends on it.

Russia has no need to false-flag this. The Russian people are already supporting the war, except that they think Putin is being too cautious, too slow, and much too gentle towards Ukraine. Putin clearly doesn't care what the West thinks. If he wanted to escalate, he doesn't need a fake attack on the Kremlin for an excuse, not when there have already been so many terrorist attacks by Ukrainian special forces and sympathizers.

My guess is that this was done by Ukrainian and US hawks, and Zelensky genuinely didn't know about it until afterwards. That would explain why he stayed longer in Finland and then went straight off to western Europe -- he's probably worried about being assassinated now, if not by his own side, by the Russians.

Of course Russia has no reason to have him killed. They need somebody to sign the surrender, and who better than Zelensky?
