Zionism isn't solely Israeli nationalism.

There's a large fundamentalist christian population in the US, which supports Zionism, because they believe it will usher in the return of Jesus. They also believe that the Jewish community will essentially burn in hell when Jesus returns; with few exceptions.

Additionally, it is my understanding that many senior Zionist members in Israeli don't believe in God; yet claim God has granted them Eretz Israel.

Strange bedfellows, indeed! :-/

Yeah, but that's basically what it equates to nowadays.

Yes, but the whole point is that they want Israel to expand and take over Palestine and the middle east... that's the same goal as Israeli nationalism so it seems unimportant to distinguish between the two, in a functional sense.

Sounds like nationalism to me!

Kinda ya. Nationalism or globalist hegemony?

Sure there are Catholic Zionists in the Washington Consensus but they ultimately serve Israel who's going to do what the other little country, England couldn't 100 years ago.

Can you imagine... "Anit-Britishism"?

Nationalism or globalist hegemony?

Globalist hegemony by controlling highly nationalistic nation-states. Then they can play the nations off of each other to hide the global structure.

Yeah Israel is one of the most powerful countries in the world, no doubt about it.

And "they" (UK/Zion/US/etc) will break a big strong country into little countries. ie Yugoslavia, now Iraq. But they always screw up the borders to include or exclude certain populations to they will always have a minority to demonize and set against each other.

Yup exactly. They intentionally split them down the middle and group them with other groups, so that there is no solidarity or unity in the nation and it's always divided against itself. The Kurds were another great example of this. http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/78409000/gif/_78409411_kurds_map624_kobane.gif

They designed the borders to split the kurds in to 4 pieces, to keep them separate so the kurds don't become too powerful and unified. Standard operating procedure, unfortunately. But most people don't know that.
