I understand that.

I'm a voluntarist, aka anarchist, aka no rulers - including monarchies.

They have not earned my respect. I don't respect actors or politicians or generals either.

As a Canadian I live under their tyranny, far from just symbolic.

It is literally symbolic though. It genuinely is.

if you really think differently then please explain how the British Royal Family asserts direct control, in any fashion what so ever, let alone tyrannically, over the citizens of Canada.

Power doesn't translate to direct control every time. They have their roles, yes, figureheads as you have said. A figurehead has power, no matter how impotent they are. They are in the public scene and can sway opinions if they are careful.
