Sarcasm is hard to read, it requires tone and mannerism to pick up. Sometimes a sarcastic statement is so ridiculous that it can be seen right away, but that is not common and requires context. The fact of the matter is that there are, or have been, plenty of users here who would make that statement or something like it. It is gross, I was commenting that I thought so.
