In China, the government is developing a much broader “social credit” system partly based on people’s routine behaviours with the ultimate goal of determining the “trustworthiness” of the 1.4 billion citizens. It might sound like a futuristic dystopian nightmare but the system is already a reality.

Honestly that's kind of what the existing credit score system in the US already does.

China's just uses more technology and takes in to account more variables. It's definitely creepy though. I wonder if china will ever shed this censorship-heavy attitude it has through popular culture revolutions. I imagine that might happen the moment the economy begins to fail, or the Chinese real estate bubble pops.
