The largest group of diamond merchants, by far, are Jewish- and the odds they have dual citizenship is high

Therefore, operations will simply claim they bought them via Israel

That’s assuming that Russia agrees to sell to them, Israelis. Relations between Russia and Israel have become chilly once Israel sided with Ukraine.

I think I heard someone say that this will have a big impact on Belgium especially as that's the biggest diamond market in Europe.

Wonder if this will turn out to be like Russian oil that still gets bought by Western countries, just at a higher price because it goes through middlemen.
