So you're saying we should support the man who: A) is responsible for the deaths and maiming of tens of thousands of civilians B) is bringing us closer to World War III than anyone else in history C) promised to veto Medicare for All if it ever reached his desk, while he and his family receive the best medical care in the world for life, paid for by our tax dollars whether we like it or not, D) has a credible accusation of rape against him, just like Trump, E) is visibly in a state of advanced dementia F) was the primary mover behind the 1994 Crime Bill that put millions of black Americans in prison, depriving their children of parents G) rigged the 2020 Democratic primaries, depriving voters of a fair vote, H) cancelled the 2024 Democratic primaries, depriving voters of a chance to vote again, I) was the primary mover behind the 2005 Bankruptcy Bill, which deprived millions of young Americans of the option to escape crushing lifetime debt, J) armed and is STILL arming actual Nazis in Ukraine K) broke up refugee families and put them in cages at the border, including thousands of children - many of whom were subsequently raped by staff, L) is offering Republicans the reinstatement of Trump's most savage treatment of refugees at the border just to get more weapons for Ukraine and for Israel's genocide?

There's lots more I could come up with, but if that's not enough nothing is. As for your suggestion that Trump would be worse on Gaza: perhaps you're right. But it's well known that Trump and Netanyahu hate each other, quite probably because they're both thugs. And for all his evil, Trump is politically pretty canny - and he's cheap. Those are all reasons to suspect that Trump wouldn't be willing to write Netanyahu unlimited checks, unlike Biden.

All that said, genocide - particularly of children - is very personal to me. It's a red line that I will never, ever cross. A vote for Biden is a vote for the continued extermination of the children of Gaza, among many other terrible policies which are bringing the end of the human race closer every day. I'm a father. I WON'T support that.

Even Israeli generals (and anyone who knows anything about what's going on in the Middle East) have said that if it wasn't for the constant support of the US government, the constant supply of bombs and ammunition, the Israeli genocide of Gaza would stop cold. Couldn't go on for two days. No matter what Netanyahu says, he can't kill children without weapons.

Biden is effectively handing weapons to Israel's military every day, knowing that they'll be used to kill children. That's not a matter of opinion; it's crystal-clear fact. Beyond that, he has literally vetoed ceasefire resolutions at the UN twice. There is simply no way you can claim that Biden has no control over the Genocide, because the whole world knows that he's funding and arming it.

As for your usual "OH MY GOD, TRUMP IS HITLER! HITLER!!!!!!", you might as well give it a rest. Nobody's buying that BS any more. Yeah, he was a terrible President. He'll be a terrible President again. But he's not going to march all of his political opponents out of Congress, line them up against a wall and have them all shot. He's far too much of a coward for that.

Trump is what they call in professional wrestling a "Heel". His job is to play the bad guy, the naughty guy that the crowd loves to boo. That's why Bill and Hillary Clinton selected him as their Pied Piper - the Republican candidate for President who would push out all others. Hillary believed that his swaggering bad guy persona would be easy for her to beat, and he agreed to play the part. But she was wrong. She overestimated her own loathsomeness.

So you're trying to use ginned-up fear of a fake bad guy (who's bad nonetheless, but not anywhere near as bad as you believe) to pressure us to vote for a man who's killing children by the hundreds every day. A man who canceled primaries this year. In other words, you're using the lesser evil to scare us into voting for the GREATER evil.

That's not going to work out for you. I suggest you get comfortable saying "President Trump", because that's what the Democratic Party is determined to give to America again.

Such witty repartee. I knew I was wasting my time. Still, perhaps I've planted a seed of doubt. Remember, you've just been defending the mass murder of children. After the election, you might want to think about the notion that BOTH parties are owned by the oligarchs. This Blue = Good, Red = Evil melodrama is designed to confuse you and set us all against each other. But no matter who wins, the same essential policies remain in place. The people always lose and the rich always win.

If we're to have any chance to survive as a species and save this planet, BOTH parties must be destroyed - along with the oligarchs who own them. When you realize that, come back and we'll talk. You can still make a positive difference in this world.

Been suddenly, after what 3 or 4 YEARS, getting barraged by Dem org texts in screeching doom mode- orgs I have never heard of and most definitely never ever gave any info to- insisting I must SUPPORT AND VOTE D AND GIVE MONEY.

My now-boilerplate response before reporting the number as spam and hitting STOP:

"FUCK OFF Never going to vote Dem again, you neocon scum"

Of course I cannot let that sit ignored, I AM after all a Boomer woman raised to be polite and correct/help innocent errors or efforts to be a good person...

So first I send Umm who is this?, prompt reply (another female name), polite formal question if I am (prior female name)?, to which I pause as instincts going off.... Finally send No, sorry, this is (ancient nickname from ex that is almost always a guy name in modern times).

Other than a whoops this should be the end of the comms in all generations and sexes. Particularly after 8pm on a weekday.

But NO:

When I was still working close to 8:30 pm the night before!

Only connection to the sudden phishing attempts I have literally in 25 years never gotten before is the hostile reply texts to Dem org mass texting to my cell within a few weeks prior.

I've had less of a problem with text messages than with emails from "campaigns" I never subscribed to. If they provide an unsubscribe link, I immediately use it. If they don't, they get tagged as spam so at least they go directly into that folder and I can periodically nuke everything in it.

BTW u/sdl5 (and totally off-topic): I remember our discussing astrology on the reddit site and wondered what your thoughts are on Pluto entering Aquarius recently. Just from my limited reading, it sounds like we're in for some interesting times, possibly/hopefully in a positive direction.

Oh hey, second random person to mention that shift online!

Aquarius is.... Both independent minded and groupthink, but generally is seen as not within the normal boxes or trajectory of current ways; very much practical self direction for individuals, who end up being leaders of entirely new directions without trying.

Pluto is- dark, hidden, mysterious: Subconscious forces, transformation, renewal and rebirth, revolution, power struggles, forced changes.

This could be a major shift worldwide to a new way of things, what things is unclear, and transformative in nature.

It could also be a harbinger for deep propaganda causing a wildly different direction in groupthink, all of them sure they came up with it themselves.

Pluto is not to be trusted- the hidden behind surface causing events is risky. But fighting what it is doing is almost worse.

Aquarius is notorious for being self focused- even if it can create mass revolutionary shifts in society or values, there is no way to know if it will in the end be good or bad transformative.

Change is about the only sure bet. Probably major in some way or ways. Probably involving hidden power and agendas.
