It exists in that distant country known as the Past. The party was known as the Democratic Party, and they featured such populist figures as Roosevelt and Huey Long. They were enormously popular, established such beloved institutions as Social Security and Medicare (considered third-rail issues), supported unions and workers' issues, and thereby built the broadest, sturdiest political coalition in the nation's history.

Coincidentally, there's also a party that calls itself the Democratic Party these days. I don't understand much about them really, but suffice to say they suck.

populist figures as Roosevelt

Populists collectively elected Roosevelt. I wouldn't call Roosevelt a populist. A populist wouldn't have saved capitalism.
