Up-voting so people read the counter argument presented in comments.

Thanks for the perspectives everyone.

I think I was probably a little irritated when I wrote that yesterday. Not that it excuses any of the callousness. The way I described things made it sound like the Israel/Palestine issue isn't important, which was not cool. My apologies again, and thanks again for keeping me grounded.

You should care for multiple reasons;

1- Everything you mentioned is related.

2- What happens to Palestinians, eventually happens to Americans and Europeans, they're literally used as Guinea pig for surveillance tech for example, and US law enforcement is trained by Israel in shutting down protests/movements. One thing to note is that the covid vaccine was heavily "tested" by Israel, among other sinister human experimentation. So yeah, if you care about Covid, you SHOULD care about what Israel has done, is doing, and will do.

3- The current juncture IS critical; Israeli government officials, including their prime minister, are openly stating genocidal intent. Their actions and the usage of the "Dahiya Doctrine" is more evidence of that. Dismissing it or ignoring it is encouraging more of this behavior world wide.

4- Israel with the help of the US and Western governments, are actively destroying international law, including the intentional blurring of what constitutes a civilian, meaning it's not at all beyond reality that the same kind of mass punishment and destruction can and will be used against internal dissidents citing precedents (not like the US for example doesn't have a looooong history of using violence against dissidents anyway). For example, it's not beyond belief that they wouldn't do something worse than they did in 1985 against the MOVE organization, against say a "MAGA target", on a much wider scale, stating the need to "destroy the terrorist cell".

Remember, the same "laws" drafted for the "War on Terror", have been used against Americans for merely going against the government.

5- This "conflict" absolutely has the potential to expand into another world war, because Israel wants the west to go after Iran and is using the current situation as an excuse. That affects everyone. Meanwhile, both Russia and China have been flexing their muscles in the region as well. You think Gas is expensive now? Just wait until China "encourages" Oil producing countries to sell more of their oil to China than they do to the US and the west.

6- US and Western support for what Israel is doing, is absolutely eroding US and Western image and support around the entire world, especially when the global south compares the hypocrisy in how it dealt with Ukraine vs how it dealt with Palestine (although I argue that they didn't behave differently; In both cases they're supporting the oppressor, Kyiv and Tel Aviv, vs Donbass and Palestine). It's not beyond the scope of belief to assume the long term repercussions against the US wouldn't compound and grow into something that affects all Americans negatively.

Btw /u/tomatopotato , I recommend you watch this entire interview with Richard Wolff, he gives even more explanation on why you should care and how it's all related.

Some people characterize the pandemic and the policies it generated as iatrogenic genocide, and they may be right but if so it's stealth genocide. We're seeing it openly and in living color in Palestine and I don't see how we can ignore that without utterly failing in our moral obligations. Remember the famous post-Holocaust pledge, "Never again." Well, "again" is here, what are we going to do about it this time?

In addition to iatrogenic, "nosocomial" also applies where patients in hospital and health care settings were forcibly injected or treated with what they didn't want, or had the treatment they wanted withheld.

Yes, that was especially horrible. Basically they lost their rights once they were admitted, I think they couldn't even leave IIRC (because "pandemic"). Lots of trauma for families and for health care workers that had to see this happening or got fired for trying to speak out about it. Lots and lots of crimes against people that still haven't been vindicated.

iatrogenic

New word detected. Though I fear I'll forget it... probably while typing this :)

But yeah, those things keep happening over and over again.

Saudi Arabia vs Yemen. Ukraine vs Donbass (pre-2022). Fauci & US Pharma vs the world (C19). Zionism vs the Middle-East (also known as Israel vs Palestine, or Jews vs Hamas if you listen to the bullshit).

And of course the list is endless. Syria, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, ...

You can't keep track of all the shit that's going on but you can look at it then go up the chain to the common causes of all those issues and bring it down to something more focused and more manageable.

Most important point being to not be pulled into spending your time arguing about semantics or cultural crap instead of the actual root causes.

What was that new word at the start? Damn, I forgot :/

Edit: hey, and probably by design, focusing on the various conflicts that are so numerous that they can't be focused on made me miss one other pretty important thing that's happening right the fuck now and may have the biggest global impact of all: the WHO takeover that will make it effectively an unelected world government, especially now that they quietly removed all the mentions of anything being non-binding.

Yup, they're all related.

That's definitely a biggie and part of the entire globalist agenda; which isn't a conspiracy theory since they keep telling us what their plans are. They've been trying to kill national sovereignty for decades, now it's narrowing down to individual sovereignty.

The fact that it (the WHO edit-addendum part) is being entirely swept under the carpet, without a single mention of it anywhere, yells at me that this may actually be the main issue right now.

And the fact that I didn't even think of it until after I posted the comment is annoying me to no end.

This sweeping under the carpet is working, even when you know it's there.

the [Bill Gates funded] WHO

A pretty big deal from a guy who spent so much time flying the Lolita Express. I'm guessing that there are vast sums of money trying to make it disappear. Kinda like for Epstein himself...

Isn't it all, ultimately, about resources and power as a means to profit?

Maybe when the US gets into a more regional war with Iran you'll be able to care about both.

[–]Maniak🥃😾 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Well, you're not limited to caring about a single topic at a time.

Besides, it's not as this there weren't overall issues that are directly linked to all those topics. For example the US government being a bunch of corrupt greedy fucks. The authoritarian measures that rolled in with the pandemic and are now being used to bash dissenters on those other topics, ...

There are common root problems that underline multiple major topics. If anything, focusing on just one topic, whichever one it is, is a problem in itself because then you're not looking at what's under the whole thing.

You are correct in that, by the numbers, the COVID military operation has resulted in more deaths by several orders of magnitude. Almost 1 million unnecessary deaths in USA alone.
