No, he wasn't a Nazi collaborator. He was a Nazi. A member of the Waffen SS.

Galatia too. Utter genocidal scum, targeting civilians, heavily Poles.

Basically Bandarites. And Canada has plenty of statues celebrating them already- along with Freeland and many others with direct Nazi parentage in power.

The only mistake was thinking no one would dare speak against them- and get media coverage.

Glenn Greenwald

Once the founder of "NAFO" and the whole online #fellas movement was unmasked as a real-deal Nazi (not the US version of wearing a MAGA hat, but the actual real-deal kind that loves Hitler), it's amazing how they all kept identifying as such, including CNN's @AdamKinzinger:

Then again, given how many times Westerners have found themselves applauding and cheering and arming actual Nazis -- like.....yesterday, when the Canadian Parliament stood in ovation for a Ukrainian Nazi SS soldier - it's not really surprising:

Gee, how on earth do these things keep happening?

It's almost as if we're on "the wrong side of history" or something

The positive side of this is that the more it's brought out of the shadows and into the open, the more the average person's eyes are opened to who these people are.

Or the more they'll get entrenched in their manufactured beliefs, depending on how willing they are to admit that they've been buying into some of the worst shit ever for possibly their entire lives :/

I kind of think glorifying Nazis is a bridge too far for even the most generally propagandized people, or at least a significant proportion of them. Because part of that lengthy propaganda was on how WWII was a triumph over Nazi Germany and likewise the "never again" lesson learned from the Holocaust.

Given how far they're willing to go to defend Ukrainazis and refuse to see them as nazis even when they post themselves with nazi flags, I'm expecting that with this particular case, they'll grasp at straws to avoid having to face it.

Straws like "not all german soldiers were evil nazis", which a lot have already been grasping at for that exact reason :)

But you're more of an optimist than I am so who knows :)

More likely they'll try to downplay the role the guy played by revising the history of whichever unit he was in and/or saying everyone in it was conscripted against their will and/or that their only assignment was rescuing abandoned puppies and finding them good homes.

That's been one of the weirdest parts of the Ukraine thing to me: liberals becoming overnight experts in the specific duties of individual SS battalions.

"No, you see, these Nazis were different! Their duties didn't involve mass murder!"

The same person will also tell you in the next breath that if you have dinner with a Trump supporter there are two Trump supporters at the table, and you're both Nazis. But not the kind they like, apparently.

No wonder their brains are broken.

Liberals are just NAZIs with better self control. For now.

As a Canadian, I'm revolted by this government - in other words I feel the same way most Americans here feel about Congress.
