From what I understand, the new production will be called ‘Snow Brown and the Seven They/Thems.’

According to film critic Jerry Asshat, “It’s really a genius move.”

LOL

“We wanted to do something totally new,” said Disney CEO Bob Iger of the new production, “but we’ve run out of ideas. So we’re going to just re-release our old movies, but with black people and transvestites in them.”

Does anyone wonder why I'm always talking about old movies?

Never thought about it but now that you mention it, it's probably the same reason I do. Of course, your "old" and my "old" aren't necessarily the same thing, mine's pretty much limited to what was shown on classic movie channels when I was growing up. Speaking of animated foreign films (I do know we weren't), did you ever see The Tripletts of Belleville? Strange little movie but oddly enjoyable.

I adore The Triplets. Utterly brilliant movie, especially the Belleville Rendezvous number at the beginning. The French Mafia with their stretch 2CV limousines are hilarious.

The film and the song were both nominated for Oscars.

Not sure how I even heard about it. I used to track Oscar nominations but didn't usually track down foreign films so I must have heard a review, maybe Siskel & Ebert.

You might be amused by a FNDP comment I made a few months ago that includes Belleville Rendezvous 😺

Totally missed it, thanks for pointing it out.

BTW, if you like movie reviews you may like Film Freak Central: https://www.filmfreakcentral.net/

I see Walter Chaw is still there. He used to do reviews on epinions.com and I asked him a lot of questions about how he learned so much. In the end, I decided that I preferred the freedom of being an average moviegoer who could just watch movies and not have to critique them.

My love of movies was a gift from my father. We watched countless films when I was growing up, especially when I was a teenager and an undergrad. We were lucky to live in a college town with excellent campus movies shown in classrooms at night.
