Anyway, the newest indictment really proves how abhorrent the man is once and for all: Trump Charged With Questioning Election Results While Not Being A Democrat

"We must be clear: no one who is a Republican is above the law."

The former President has also been charged with 6 other counts, including:

  • Removing a USB drive without ejecting it first

  • Going to McDonald's and getting a cup for water but filling it with Sprite

  • Wearing a National Park Junior Ranger badge without finishing the activity booklet

  • Pressing the 'credit' button on a card reader even though he was using a debit card

  • Clicking the box saying he had read the Terms Of Service when he really just scrolled through it

  • High treason against the media

At publishing time, Trump had pleaded "not guilty" on all charges on the grounds that he is actually a Democrat.

There's a difference. HRC's allegations that Russia 'hacked' the '16 election were transparently self-serving bullshit. Trump's allegations that the Ds stole the '20 election are transparently true.

When swing states suddenly switch from one camp to the other at 4am, because they suddenly counted hundreds of thousands of ballots that were 100% for one candidate, there's a nearly 100% chance that you just witnessed election fraud. Specifically ballot box stuffing.

Just because they shut down the polling station and returned at midnight to roll suitcases of ballots out from under the tables, ballots that were 98% for one candidate with only the presidential race filled in with perfectly filled ovals and no fold creases from the return envelopes... uhh.... you can't prove anything, conspiricist!!

The last 2 years have been an impressive demonstration of gaslighting, convincing most of the population this never happened, despite the vote totals and end result proving that it most certainly did.

My favorite was the ruling that it didn't matter if Republican observers couldn't see the ballots, because the law only said they had to be in the building.

Somewhere. Off to the side, like cheerleaders. 100' away? That's fine. Observe from there.

the CIA protesting a right wing president being installed by a foreign power might be the funniest thing that has ever happened

Incidentally, Chris Hayes shows up in Michael's thread, hilariously claiming he was just offering disinterested advice on how to make voting more representative:

@chrislhayes · Nov 25, 2020

Anyway nothing was beijng floated here since the point is that if electors were to go to the winner of the majority of all counties would probably just give it to the Republican in every state. My point was that people should be able to vote for president.

Something:

Michael Tracey knew it would be widely denied that prominent liberals floated an Electoral College coup in 2016, which is why he contemporaneously saved a bunch of examples.

Alright, one more. This might've been the most celebrated New York Times op-ed of December 2016, when the Electoral College subversion scheme was really gaining elite momentum. Anyone who tries to tell you this stuff didn't happen is lying

Yes -- because Hillary had more votes than Trump and Trump turned out to be "a fan of Russia" invading Ukraine. Also -- he had an impeachment over colluding to stop Ukraine from getting US weapons approved by congress -- so it's pretty clear he was taking a side.

If Hillary was in office, we might not have gotten that important $2 Trillion dollar tax cut so Wall Street could buy back it's stock, or the other $2 Trillion in short term loans so Wall Street could move out of positions before they announced COVID. Or -- maybe we still would have gotten those "punches" against the Deep State by Hillary C. But now we'll never know.

It's not REALLY a coup to suggest electors to change their votes based on their Conscience. They are not REPLACING the Electors and this is part of the process. The whole point of Electors was to not let the rabble (we Americans), vote in another king or a foreign agent of one. Oh well -- I guess the Electors actually made that happen rather than prevented it. The "subversion scheme" you are comparing to Trump's sedition is actually our political process. It's also out in the open -- on a news show.

The Founding Fathers screwed up again! I guess we need to update the Constitution on occasion.

Not familiar with the term but I'm guessing you think I endorse Hillary by merely pointing out she had more votes or that you think the LEGAL suggestions to effect the Electors were somehow similar to Trump's ILLEGAL efforts to influence them, or replace them with people who wittingly or not were going to vote as electors for him.

[–]MeganDelacroix🤡🌎 detainee 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

merely pointing out she had more votes

This is like losing a game and claiming you somehow won because you ran more yards.

That's not what anyone was trying to do. You want to whine about the rules, whine before the game starts. Don't sign up and whine after the other side wins.

the LEGAL suggestions to effect the Electors

Oh, you mean like threatening to shoot them?

Trump's ILLEGAL efforts

Here's the thing slugger, you don't get to make the accusation and then pocket it as a fait accompli before the trial. ALL CAPS doesn't make you more convincing. "It's not REALLY a coup!" Oh, okay. I guess Crossfire Hurricane wasn't a thing. The Steele hoax wasn't a thing. Mueller's dozens of wiped phones weren't a thing. Nor was Hillary wandering the earth sniveling to anyone who'd pay her about how she was cheated and Trump was illegitimate and anyway it was all Russia's fault. How about military officers lying to Trump about troop deployments, does that meet your definition of sedition? No wait, I forgot. Your ilk celebrates that.

I guess we need to update the Constitution on occasion.

There are two ways to do that. Have at it.

Hint: they're not a pen and a phone.

[–]Shatner_Ghost 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Oh, you mean like threatening to shoot them?

If anyone in a position of authority endorsed that -- then it would be criminal. I'm sure the FBI follows up on death threats.

Here's the thing slugger, you don't get to make the accusation and then pocket it as a fait accompli before the trial.

Oh -- so you think he's actually going to go to jail? The Mueller report actually reported ten counts of obstruction. And there is AMPLE evidence that he's committed crimes -- there are over 72 indictments. The Trial is to discover the testimony -- you rarely have this much verified evidence before one.

And don't call me "slugger" -- these condescending tactics are annoying.

it was all Russia's fault.

She didn't actually make that claim -- merely pointed out where they were involved and time seems to have proven her correct. There was a hack in Georgia and Reality Winner went to jail for exposing it and the evidence went POOF!

I mean -- it certainly seems like defending Russia and Trump's reputations are far more of a concern around here than Progressives. Who do you even support?

How about military officers lying to Trump about troop deployments,

I have no idea -- first I've heard of that. I think a lot of people started lying to Trump because they didn't want it leaking to other governments. Have you seen his bathroom with the boxes of classified documents yet? Here's kid rock talking about that time Trump turned to him for advice on North Korea; https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/kid-rock-tucker-carlson-interview-1325014/

He probably won't go to jail -- but his own best buddies are laughing about how guilty this guy is and how he knew they were classified. That's just one out of a hundred things. If he was going to jail --- EVERYONE knows he'd fly to Russia. I know they had some good business with Saudi Arabia -- but there's too much money at stake for them -- and they need our weapons, Russia is your sure bet for no economic pressure working.

I mean -- REALLY, you don't know why people stopped telling Trump things? Even though -- I don't know anything about if they did or why, I could just imagine, NOBODY in the right mind would tell this guy anything.

I'm sure he had to fire some people for not telling him about toilet paper on his shoe -- people should have seen the signs at this moment it was all going to fall apart; https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-canada-45758636

There are two ways to do that. Have at it. Hint: they're not a pen and a phone.

Oh, are your tips useful?

Here you go.

I think a lot of people started lying to Trump because they didn't want it leaking to other governments

You seem to be under the misapprehension that the President has a superior. "A lot of people" don't have the right to make that determination, and if you had anything remotely resembling a principle, you'd agree that they should be in prison or hanged.

Who do you even support?

Never Nazis, and never Democrats. But I repeat myself.

there is AMPLE evidence

EVERYONE knows he'd fly to Russia

The 2016 Electoral College vote had the most faithless electors since the 19th Century, and was the first in 100 years to have more than one. From Wiki-Pooh:

In the 2016 United States presidential election, ten members of the Electoral College voted or attempted to vote for a candidate different from the ones to whom they were pledged. Three of these votes were invalidated under the faithless elector laws of their respective states, and the elector either subsequently voted for the pledged candidate or was replaced by someone who did...

As a result of the seven successfully cast faithless votes, the Democratic Party nominee, Hillary Clinton, lost five of her pledged electors while the Republican Party nominee and then president-elect, Donald Trump, lost two. Three of the faithless electors voted for Colin Powell while John Kasich, Ron Paul, Bernie Sanders, and Faith Spotted Eagle each received one vote. The defections fell well short of the number needed to change the result of the election; only two of the seven defected from the winner, whereas 37 were needed to defect in order to force a contingent election in Congress (a tally of less than 270).

I think it's hilarious that with all the Sturm und Drang about Trump, it was the odious Hillary who had more faithless electors. Nelson Muntz says "Ha Ha!"

Wikipedia (obviously) doesn't want to mention many of the interesting details Breitbart noted at the time:

Lessig claimed he had 20 electors lined up

Michael Moore offered to pay faithless electors' fines

A California elector filed suit with the lunatic idea of establishing a nationwide precedent in 39 days

It goes on for a while if anyone's feeling nostalgic 😄

Yes --- and it's amazing that NONE of that is criminal -- unlike trying to insert fake electors, declaring martial law to grab voting ballots, or having an insurgency attempt to stop the electors from voting.

Also; Trump keeps winning with fewer votes with the Electoral College. Same with Bush. You are pretending that Trump didn't suck at running the country as well.

declaring martial law

This happened on what date precisely?

[–]Shatner_Ghost 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

No set time -- there were occasions where he floated the idea, asked about it and got struck down, or it was perhaps the reason he fired his top military officer. https://news.yahoo.com/trump-raised-idea-imposing-martial-120057309.html?guccounter Supported by Michael Flynn; https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-should-declare-martial-law-michael-flynn-retweeted-his-now-banned-account-1654226 Got even Giuliani freaking out about it; https://www.businessinsider.com/giuliani-trump-end-up-in-prison-martial-law-after-election-2022-2?op=1 Or to create a riot as a backlash to his actions where he could respond with increased violence and declare an emergency; https://www.rawstory.com/trumps-martial-law/

He either was told it wouldn't work enough times, or couldn't get anyone to help him start it -- but it was not for lack of trying nor conscience that prevented him from doing so.
