I wish I could like him, but he's a pedophile.

[–]Maniak🥃😾 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (14 children)

Is he?

I would have linked the interview in which he went into details over the whole story, but YT nuked the channel containing it for some reason. It wasn't quite as simple as "he's a pedophile".

So, I know Wiki isn't the end-all-be-all of truth, but if it were untrue, he'd be able to sue and get that taken down where it says "the officer repeatedly reported to be a 15 year old girl," and Ritter didn't have any defense other than that he "thought it was an adult enacting a fantasy."

If there was any truth to that, he wouldn't have served 3 years in prison.

Wiki isn't even in the same county as the truth.

but if it were untrue, he'd be able to sue and get that taken down

So you've never paid for lawyers before, huh?

Unfortunately I have. I got a DUI when I was 21.

Just because I like what somebody is saying doesn't excuse their past, though.. And I have a particular hatred for child predators.

I got a DUI when I was 21.

That's interesting. I was also charged with DUI.
But what might be a difference between us, I had nothing in my system at the time of being charged.

And even with blood coercively taken from my body on the evening of being charged, it took a lawyer and three and a half years to finally get those false charges dropped. And I have never received the results of that clean blood test.

For all I know, Law Enforcement may have claimed that they lost either the blood, or the test.
My case may have been dropped for "lack of evidence" instead of "evidence shows not guilty."

If that's how it went down, I may still be listed somewhere in the statistics of "people who went free on a technicality."
With no mention that my particular technicality was "I didn't do it."

I was also not driving. I had been that night, but not at the time the police officer talked to me and arrested me. A friend of mine had stopped to drop me off some things and parked the wrong direction in the street in front of my house. Police driving by at the wrong time stopped and because I was putting the stuff into my car with the car door open I was charged with DUI, even though my car was parked in my driveway and the keys were in my pocket. It was some bullshit, cost me over 10 grand, month in jail, had to do like 40 classes, intoxilyzer on the car for a year, etc.

So we've got two different cases of Wrongful Prosecution here:

One, Driving while Not Under the Influence, and one Not Driving, while Under the Influence.

What a brave stance you are taking! Imagine standing up against the powerful child molester lobby. You are obviously a moral giant and a much better person than the rest of us.

Uhm. I don't get your point... ?

The next time you want to reply to me, try this instead. Write your idiotic reply on a little piece of paper, or go hog wild and print it. Crinkle it up, and shove it up your ass.

You're still under the wrong assumption that this is what he is because he didn't bankrupt himself fighting the propaganda.

[–]Friday_The_13thRussian Bot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

He's convicted and did prison time. He was found guilty. Pretty difficult to defend yourself when you're flirting with a "15-year-old" cop.

I'll try to explain why some of us are still willing to listen to Ritter, even though the conviction is a matter of record. There are two main reasons:

First, we've seen more than enough evidence over the past two decades to prove that the security state will manufacture crimes, and entrap and humiliate its opponents, to discredit valid claims and criticisms. Scott Ritter would hardly be the first; Michael Flynn was one of the more recent and high-profile cases.

Second, even if Ritter is a pedophile, his arguments are not affected by that, and accepting them neither imputes complicity in his predilections, nor implies approval of them. Kaczynski was widely acknowledged to have sound concerns about the future of technologically advanced nations; this doesn't mean we should all start mailing bombs to people. It was necessary to use the testimony of war criminals to convict other war criminals at Nuremberg, and we're up against comparable psychopaths and totalitarians now.

Personally, I'm agnostic. Since it was a sting, no actual children were involved; therefore the moral stakes must be lower even if you think they exist.

I've said in this thread that I like what he says, just don't like him.

I'm shooting the messenger, not the message. That man is a creep.

Funny thing is, kiddy fiddlers don't stop re-offending. How has he been able to stay clean for 10 years? How did he survive in prison for that matter? Also, his wife has stuck with him through all of it.

Exonerate Scott Ritter.

Yes, this is another good point in support of Ritter. Actual paraphiliacs behave more like Anthony Weiner.
