Good news! mRNA generic modification is getting plugged into every chronic disease at platinum prices! Welcome to the future!

Not to promote Big Gubmit, but the government does have the ability to manufacture its own generics through arrangement with existing manufacturers or startup plants.

Too many conservatives think about government power the same way Democrats think about guns.

Sometimes the profit motive is immutably inimical to the national interest, and the invisible hand is never coming to save us.

Much truth there. Also true that few entities have the means to offer an alternative to profit-driven pharma and its fight against generics for off-patent drugs.

Generic drugs seem like a good niche for not-for-profit pharmaceuticals cooperatives to fill. Since generics are already tested drugs it would keep the initial resrarch costs down.

A good point. The question: where are they? Also good to know the variance on active ingredients the FDA allows for generics (to be clear, I'm a fan of generics). Can make a difference for some people.

But does it have the desire to do so? Just like those pesky Ruskies and their nationalized military manufacturing that actually produces tons and tons of shells even at a loss, because it's the government paying so who cares, while here in the west, since shells aren't profitable to make, the companies just don't do it.

Hmm...sounds like the same damn thing actually 😂

Corporations don’t care about people. Politicians don’t care about people. They only care about maximizing profits.

This was entirely predictable because profits take precedence over all else.
