The propaganda war against China is accelerating. Just what we needed, another supposedly "Cold" War.

One thing I love is how Biden has always been selective on calling rulers "Dictators" depending on their alignment status.

For example, Regarding Egypt's former President Hosni Mubarak, a well known dictator, Biden had this to say;

JIM LEHRER:

The word — the word to describe the leadership of Mubarak and Egypt and also in Tunisia before was dictator. Should Mubarak be seen as a dictator?

JOE BIDEN:

Look, Mubarak has been an ally of ours in a number of things and he's been very responsible on, relative to geopolitical interests in the region: Middle East peace efforts, the actions Egypt has taken relative to normalizing the relationship with Israel.

And I think that it would be — I would not refer to him as a dictator.

Moon of Alabama has an article on this: "And Then Biden Blew It ..."

Here are Biden's remarks, direct from the White House:

And so, things are changing. We put together in Southeast Asia — and, by the way, I promise you we’re going to — don’t worry about China. I mean, worry about China, but don’t worry about China. (Laughter.)

No, but I really mean it. China is real — has real economic difficulties. And the reason why Xi Jinping got very upset in terms of when I shot that balloon down with two boxcars full of spy equipment in it is he didn’t know it was there. No, I’m serious. That’s what’s a great embarrassment for dictators, when they didn’t know what happened. That wasn’t supposed to be going where it was. It was blown off course up through Alaska and then down through the United States. And he didn’t know about it. When it got shot down, he was very embarrassed. He denied it was even there.

But the fo- — did — the very important point is he’s in a situation now where he wants to have a relationship again. Tony Blinken just went over there — our Secretary of State; did a good job. And it’s going to take time.

But what he was really upset about was that I insisted that we — we reunite the Qu- — so-called Quad. He called me and told me not to do that because it was putting him in a bind. I said, “All we’re doing — we’re not trying to surround you, we’re just trying to make sure the international rules with air and sea lanes remain open. And we’re not going to yield to that — on that.”

I would think that normally the White House would have tried to edit these comments so that they made some sense, but they must have looked at them an could not understand a motherf---ing word he's saying, so they decided to go verbatim. Hell, Brandon's speech can't do any damage if nobody understands it, right?

H/T The Limey (1999) for "motherf---ing word he's saying"

One recurring problem in U.S.-Chinese relations is that China perceives a wide gap between what the U.S. says it wants from the relationship and what it does. Washington professes to value the status quo, but it takes actions vis-à-vis Taiwan that seem to erode it. The U.S. and its allies claim that they don’t seek to harm the Chinese economy while the U.S. implements export controls that are clearly designed to kneecap China’s technology sector.

Does the Biden administration not understand statecraft?

Or is this just sheer arrogance?

"Never ascribe to arrogance that which can be explained by dementia alone."

The last time I remember the US engaged in that was (maybe) during the Reagan administration.

Another case of a cognitively impaired White House occupant.

Just read somewhere that in a recent speech he ended with "God save the queen!"

Was actually "God save the Queen, man" A unique mid-Atlantic take.
