WotB is the only subreddit I ever look at, though I am subbed to a few, and I'll admit to looking around r/funny from time to time. If this (SaidIt) were where I knew I could find all the posters and commenters from over at Reddit all the time, I would just come here. If there's a real migration going on, I'm in.

Great to hear. We really should be looking at it as a more long-range alternative because I'm thinking the writing is on the wall at Reddit.

I'll hate to lose my posting history, but it's a small price to pay for the kind of autonomy that seems to be available here on SaidIt. Here's to a smooth migration, if it comes to that!

I get depressed about that too, but then I remember that human beings, especially cowards, have an imperative for self preservation.

There have been too many seriously close calls already

That most of us never heard about, unfortunately.

For those who haven't seen Command and Control about a deadly accident at a Titan II missile complex in Damascus, Arkansas in 1980, I would highly recommend it, it's chilling. The thing that struck me most was the lack of knowledge and experience at the highest levels of command that the silo operators sought help from; the general who had been recently appointed to oversee the nuclear program had ZERO knowledge and experience with nuclear weapons. Ultimately, it was the specially trained "fire" crews that saved the day, many of them losing their lives as a result.

But hey, I'm sure that there'll be something on the teevee tonight to take my mind off of it...

      While we're attacking frontally,
      Watch Brinkally and Huntally,
      Describing contrapuntally
      The cities we have lost.
No need for you to miss a minute
      Of the agonizing holocaust. Yeah!

And there's a lot of that particular group.
